To earn a JD, students must complete a minimum of 90 semester hours and graduate with a GPA of at least 2.5. JD graduates are eligible to sit for a U.S. bar exam.
The S.J. Quinney College of Law offers a specialized Master of Laws degree in energy, environmental, and natural resources law. A JD degree is required for application to the LLM program.
The S.J. Quinney College of Law offers a Master of Legal Studies degree. This one-year, 30-credit-hour program requires an undergraduate degree but no prior legal training. Graduates are not eligible to sit for a U.S. bar exam.
Global JD Program for Foreign-trained lawyers
To request applying as Global JD applicant, send an email requesting approval to Reyes Aguilar, Associate Dean for Admissions, at email@example.com. Enter “Global JD Applicant” in the subject line. In the body of the message, include the reasons you seek to apply as a Global JD Applicant. After the associate dean verifies your eligibility, you will receive a reply message indicating our decision for you to apply as a Global JD Candidate. If you are approved, you should then complete the regular JD application process.
