After the ceremony campus shuttles will take you from Kingsbury Hall to the College of Law.

 

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Trina A. Higgins has served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah for 20 years. She recently returned from an overseas assignment in Valletta, Malta, where she served as the Mediterranean Regional Legal Advisor for the Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance, and Training. While at the U.S.A.O., Ms. Higgins held various leadership positions, including Senior Litigation Counsel and Chief of the Violent Crime Section. Ms. Higgins was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, where she taught trial advocacy for the last 10 years. Prior to joining the U.S.A.O., she worked in the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney for seven years. Ms. Higgins is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and was the Vice Chair of the Utah Committee. She is also a past president of the Salt Lake County Bar Association. Ms. Higgins received her J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law and her B.A. from Weber State University.

NOMINATION:
On January 31, 2022, President Biden nominated Trina A. Higgins to be the United States Attorney for the District of Utah. She was confirmed on April 27, 2022 and sworn in on May 5, 2022.

Guest Seating & Tickets:

To enter Kingsbury Hall, ALL GUESTS MUST HAVE A TICKET INCLUDING CHILDREN. Tickets have been distributed to graduating students

  • All guests must be ticketed – this includes children and babes in arms (venue rules, not ours). Graduating students do NOT need a ticket to attend.
  • Don’t misplace these tickets; they cannot be reprinted.

Anyone requiring an interpreter (ASL or foreign language) or reserved ADA seating, please contact Kris Monty at Kris.Monty@law.utah.edu by Friday, April 29, 2022 for proper accommodations.

Parking & Shuttle Service

Parking and Shuttle Service will be available at the Rice-Eccles Stadium parking lot. This parking lot may be used at no charge during convocation. The shuttle will be in operation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and will transport guests from the Rice-Eccles Stadium parking lot to Kingsbury Hall. The return shuttle will be from Kingsbury Hall to the SJ Quinney College of Law east entrance for the reception. Shuttle service will end at 1:00 p.m.

Families/guests are encouraged to drop graduates off at Kingsbury Hall by 9:30 a.m. to prevent late arrivals for the processional line-up.

Live Streaming

The commencement ceremony will be streamed live.

Commencement Programs

Virtual programs will be available for guests. A link to the program will be available on this webpage and at the ceremony. Graduates will be provided a commemorative printed program at the Convocation Ceremony.
