Cost of Attendance

Cost of Attendance: 2020-2021 First-Year Law Students

The 1L Cost of Attendance (COA) budget includes a one-time $2,300 cost incurred for the purchase of a laptop computer.  The 2020 – 2021 COA below is for the nine-month academic year and is set by the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Students during the Summer term have a different COA for that term.  The COA for a student with children under the age of 12 may be increased, depending on the age of each child, for child day-care expenses. The “Total” figure at the bottom of each column is the maximum amount that a student in that status may qualify for in financial aid. A student may not receive more than that total amount in a combination of loans, scholarships, work-study, and/or tuition waivers.  The amounts for the five categories of costs in the chart are established using federal guidelines that refer to a variety of sources in determining the COA for an average student.
