From the Alumni Relations Director

RES GESTAE |

Dear Alumni,

We are very excited about this year’s annual Alumni Reunions/3L dinner, happening Friday, April 21 at the College of Law. (You can register for the event here.)

We're excited to try a slightly different format this year. The students approached us and wanted to join the event this year, which is the first time we have our soon-to-be new alumni start their journey with us at our annual celebration. If we have enough out-of-town alumni who are interested, we will plan family activities for Saturday. Just let us know (you can email me directly at lori.nelson@law.utah.edu).

We will have individual class receptions spaced out around the law school building beginning in the early evening. After the reception we will all meet in the Moot Courtroom for our annual alumni awards presentations. Following that, everyone will meet together for our dinner and mingling. The best part of all—dessert—will be on the terrace. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos and visiting with your classmates and others in school with you at the same time.

As we look forward to seeing you again at Reunions, I think about the truly amazing alumni we have. Several of our alumni were presidents of the Utah State Bar. Kurt Holzer completed his term as Idaho State Bar President in July 2022. Our alumni serve as CEOs and general counsels of companies, and many are doing outstanding work on the bench in several state and federal jurisdictions. Still others are leading the way in their practices, in their communities, and in other less visible—but no less important—ways. You can find Utah Law alumni on Forever Utah, our alumni networking platform (and create a profile for yourself, if you haven't yet!).

Our Alumni Reunions is an opportunity for you all to gather, connect and share what you are doing in your lives, above and beyond the legal practice. It's priceless chance to enrich ourselves and the College of Law. I hope you're able to join us!

Sincerely,

Lori Nelson
