Dear alumni and friends,
Welcome to the Winter 2023 issue of Res Gestae!
This issue celebrates pathbreakers and trendsetters—those who work towards a better world, whether from the bench, through innovative research, or via direct community organization. They are advocating for justice and paving the way for others to follow.
In my view, this is a defining characteristic of our college: We are continually working toward a brighter future for our communities. Wherever I turn, I see the influence of our alumni, students and faculty—and that’s something I am endlessly proud to be part of.
There are so many ways that Utah Law will continue its impact in 2023. Among them, I’m proud that we’ve established two new clinics in Environmental Justice and Refugee Law this year. These in-house clinics provide students with first-hand opportunities to serve individuals and communities in need, and to build essential experience that they will carry into the world with them after graduation.
A Utah Law education provides a stepping stone for changing the world, and I’m always amazed at the incredible things that our alumni are achieving. I invite you to keep us up to date with your accomplishments and milestones by submitting them to Class Notes, which we publish annually.
