Professor Jason Iuliano talks to New York Times, WSJ about Biden Administration’s student debt plans

Associate Professor Jason Iuliano, an expert on student loan debt, bankruptcy, and consumer protection, spoke with national media outlets about the Biden Administration’s plans to make it easier for Americans to clear their student debt as part of bankruptcy proceedings.

Current bankruptcy code makes it extremely difficult for an individual to have their student debt cancelled after declaring bankruptcy. Iuliano conducted a 2020 analysis that found just a tiny percentage of individuals who declared bankruptcy attempted to also have their student debt wiped away.
