The University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law is celebrating a strong performance from recent graduates on the July 2022 Utah Bar Exam.

An impressive 96% of recent Utah Law grads passed the Utah Bar Exam on their first try. This puts Utah Law comfortably above the state average of 89% and represents an increase over last year’s numbers. The Utah Law community is proud of the grads and the hardworking faculty and staff that head up the bar preparation program.

“We are pleased to celebrate the success of our recent graduates who have passed the bar exam,” said Elizabeth Kronk Warner, dean of the S.J. Quinney College of Law.

“This strong bar passage rate not only reflects the preparation of our students for the exam, but speaks to the high-caliber faculty and staff at the College of Law who are dedicated to helping students achieve their career goals of becoming licensed attorneys throughout the course of students’ legal education,” she added.

Utah Law graduates and other new attorneys were recently sworn into the Utah State Bar at the Utah Capitol Building.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Magistrate Judge Paul Kohler encouraged the new attorneys to celebrate their accomplishments and show appreciation for their friends and family who acted as their support systems as they worked toward this major accomplishment.
