Utah Law hosts anti-racism conference for law school deans in conjunction with LSAC

The S.J. Quinney College of Law, along with the Law School Admissions Council, recently hosted a conference for law school deans focused on the topics of anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Law Deans Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Conference was held on May 1-3 with over 20 law school deans from around the country in attendance. The purpose of the conference was to promote collaboration about these important topics that all law schools are grappling with.

Topics included raising money for anti-racism and diversity efforts, DEI work in admissions, DEI work in states antagonistic to anti-racism, DEI work at religious institutions, and much more. Presenters included University of Utah President Taylor Randall, Dean Michèle Alexandre from Stetson University College of Law, Dean Michael Barry from South Texas College of Law Houston, Dean Marcilynn A. Burke from the University of Oregon School of Law, Dean Stephen Mazza from Kansas University School of Law, and many more.
