NEW TENURE-LINE FACULTY
JONAS ANDERSON
Professor Jonas Anderson joins Utah Law after serving as associate dean for scholarship at American University Washington College of Law. Anderson’s research focuses on the relationship between the Supreme Court, Congress, and the Federal Circuit, and the challenges and benefits of having a specialized, centralized court for patent appeals.
LINGXI CHENYANG
Associate Professor Lingxi Chenyang joins the college from Indiana University, where she was a visiting scholar at the Maurer School of Law and environmental law fellow at the Environmental Resilience Institute. Chenyang teaches and writes about climate change law, environmental law, and property law.
RUHAN NAGRA
Associate Professor Ruhan Nagra joins Utah Law after serving as director of the Environmental Justice Initiative and senior clinical supervisor at the University Network for Human Rights, which she co-founded in 2018. Nagra will be teaching environmental justice and launching Utah Law’s new Environmental Justice Clinic.

CATHERINE BRAMBLE
Catherine Bramble is a legal writing professor at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Bramble’s research interests center on legal writing, legal analysis, innovative attorney licensure, and best practices in law school pedagogy. She will be teaching torts, applied legal writing, and problem solving & analysis.
KRISTINA CAMPBELL
Kristina Campbell is a professor of law at the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law. Her interests center on the rights and regulations of non-citizens in the United States at both the federal and sub-federal level. Campbell will teach youth and contemporary humanitarian law, and will launch the college’s new Refugee Law Clinic.
BRIGHAM DANIELS
Brig Daniels is the Marion B. and Rulon A. Earl Professor at Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. Daniels’s scholarship focuses on the creation and administration of environmental law, the commons, and public risk management. He will be teaching torts, property law, and environmental law.
TIM DUANE
Tim Duane is an attorney and consultant with four decades of professional experience in the fields of renewable energy, climate, land use, natural resources, water, and environmental policy, planning and law. Duane will be teaching renewable energy law, wildlife & biodiversity Law, and land use regulation.

TENEILLE BROWN
Professor of Law Teneille Brown has been named James I. Farr Presidential Endowed Chair, and has been appointed associate dean for research and faculty development. In July 2022, Brown became director of the college’s Center for Law and Biomedical Sciences. Her research centers on law and the biosciences—including genetics, neuroscience, medicine, and cognitive psychology—and on medical ethics and the law.
JORGE CONTRERAS
Professor of Law and Presidential Scholar Jorge Contreras has been named James T. Jensen Chair. Contreras serves as director of Utah Law’s Program on Intellectual Property and Technology Law, which he had a central role in establishing. He teaches and researches in the areas of intellectual property, property law, technical standardization, antitrust, and science policy.
LAURA KESSLER
Professor of Law Laura Kessler has been named S.J. Quinney Chair at the College of Law. Kessler’s areas of specialization include family law; employment discrimination; gender, sexuality and the law; human rights, religion and families; reproductive rights and justice; and law and society. Her scholarship is highly interdisciplinary and is regularly cited by courts and in briefs.
